08:30 - 2:00 p.m.
The great majority of businesses in the Southern Tier are small. Most of them have limited resources and rely heavily on state and federal grants and loans to raise capital for their operations and growth. The region has further a rapidly growing start-up business community that is also in high demand for venture capital. The focus of the Forum will be on the flow of money across national borders, with two key questions for discussion: What are the recent trends and drivers of global investment flows?; and How can emerging and established businesses, as well as governing agencies in the Southern Tier take advantage of the opportunities that these cross-border flows offer as funding sources for company growth, job creation and regional economic prosperity?
