The Port of New York/New Jersey is one of the busiest in the world and managed a record 6,371,720 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) during 2015.
Join the CNYIBA on a tour of Maher Terminal - the largest container shipping terminal in the Port of New York/New Jersey. (See on Google Maps)

We will learn from the Maher Terminal managers how they coordinate loading and unloading thousands of ocean shipping containers each day. We’ll learn how they use x-ray to inspect shipments, how they trans-load to and from rail and truck, and how they cooperate with US Customs and Border Protection to insure the safety of our supply chains.
We’ll also hear a presentation from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who has management oversight of all of the ocean, rail, truck and air terminals in the greater metro area.
Lastly, the Executive Director of the Port of Oswego, Zelko Kirncich, will explain how the inland port project in Syracuse will integrate with the Port of NY/NJ operations, the development plans for the container rail yard, and what will be the benefits to Central New York Businesses.
